1st Dagupan Children's Congress and Fair

The poster of 1st Dagupan Children's Congress and Fair The first-ever Dagupan Children's Congress and Fair was held at the CSI Stadia last November 16 and 17, 2010. An estimated 14,000 school children from both public and private elementary and high schools attended the two-day event. The first day started commenced with a half-day tri-sectoral seminar where teachers, student leaders and parents were convened to teach them basic children's rights and discuss issues and concerns about children's rights. The event was sponsored by the Sangguniang Panlungsod headed by Vice-Mayor Belen Fernandez and Councilor Dada Reyna and the Department of Education-Dagupan City Schools Division.  The fun-filled fair ensued after the seminar. Dagupan's children were treated with different activities like free dental check-up, taekwondo and basketball clinics, art camp, hands on make-over and hairstyling. Alulong - An Art Exhibit

Poster of Alulong- An Art Exhibit by the Dagupan Artists Circle The Dagupan Artists Circle in Cooperation with Nepo Mall Dagupan brings you ALULONG - AN exhibit of ART with out boundaries...  Patrick Fernandez, the President of the  Dagupan Artists Circle,  intimated that the group wanted to educate people about art- not just ordinary art but art that speaks truth and reality. The exhibit features paintings of members of the group and the students they mentor. They aim to increase artistic awareness and muster support from the community in order to sustain the art scene in Dagupan City. Fellow Dagupe ñ os, here are your responses to the survey question: Naniniwala ba kayong magkakaroon ng SM Dagupan? Oo. Now na please!  (83%) Malamang. Kaso matatagalan pa. By 2013 o 2016 siguro...  (4%) Malabo. Siguradong tututol yung ibang mall owners  (8%) Huwag na oy. Kawawa naman ang mga maliliit na negosyante   (1%) Wala akong pakialam. Solb na ako sa CSI, Magic, BHF at Nepo  (2%) The result indicates that majority of  Dagupe ñ os  WANT SM to be built in Dagupan and BELIEVE that it will rise soon! Well, let's just hope and pray and wait for... 

UPang High School Senior wins Voice of our Youth Cluster Contest

Admin Kim Alexis Vidal (in the middle) together with the VOOY board of judges, D3790 Assistant Governor Tony Patungan and presidents of the different Rotary Clubs of Dagupan City - WUD Dagupan City (November 11, 2010) --  Kim Alexis R. Vidal, a 4th year High School student from the University of Pangasinan emerged as the champion of the Voice of the Youth Impromptu Speaking  Cluster  Competition. He bested 8 participants from different schools as he expounded on the topic: "The Proposed K-12 Curriculum." All participants were in a closed room before the contest and were given only 15 minutes each to prepare for the topic before delivering their impromptu speech.  Kim received a certificate, P3,000 cash prize and will represent the Cluster 2B in the District Eliminations in Baguio City on November 27, 2010. His coach was  Ms. Princess Maramba and was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Dagupan. Kim could vie for the Voice of our Youth Nationals
